Under the direction of the Director of Player Development, the Business Development Director is responsible for the Business Development, Sales and Marketing for San Manuel Casino. This incumbent will establish and increase the market share by establishing strong relationships with the community leaders and business owners. This individual will use his/her extensive experience in collaborating with key stakeholders to acquire and retain new premium players from various regional markets to increase revenues.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Stays abreast of trends impacting gaming trends; monitor competitive activities and understand the key aspects and the potential of the marketplace.
  • Optimizes organization-wide brand and message strategies to ensure relevance and cultural competency among target populations.
  • Creates a comprehensive marketing plan for the designated communities, which will drive to organizational goals.
  • Ensures alignment with annual objectives and long-term strategic organizational goals.
  • Leverages expertise to develop culturally competent marketing communications.
  • Promotes events and activities for designated markets.
  • Analyzes pertinent market data and research findings to develop insights into the industry, brand and relevant projects and strategies.
  • Strategizes to improve engagement with target audiences while leveraging multi-channel marketing strategies.
  • Collaborates and ensures alignment and commitment from department leaders to enable the successful execution of specialized marketing strategies.
  • Creates and implements key metrics to track the success of key initiatives.
  • Provides new solutions and ideas for the marketplace’s unique challenges.
  • Uses market knowledge to execute successful initiatives; measures effectiveness of initiatives; suggests new approaches as necessary to overcome obstacles and to positively impact fiscal results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in marketing with an emphasis in Asian marketing. B2B Sales experience preferred.
  • First-hand cultural knowledge and fluency in one Asian language highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of Asian advertising and fully integrated marketing plans and strategies.
  • Proven track record of success, driving to results in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Must have experience with qualitative and quantitative research and the ability to synthesize and analyze data in order to draw conclusions and identify trends.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills; strong client interface and presentations skills are mandatory.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive toward results.
  • Experience communicating with and leading a multi-cultural workforce and customer base.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite including; Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate and to update, persuade and facilitate discussions will all levels of management.
  • Must be able to read, write, and fluently speak at least one of the following languages: Korean/Mandarin/Cantonese/Vietnamese/Spanish/Armenian.

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier.
